Compliance and Sustainability, Hand-in-Hand

Your Partner in Ontario EPR and Global Circular Economy Solutions

The Landscape: Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy that shifts the financial and physical responsibility for a product’s life cycle from municipalities to the “producers” who supply the goods. By shifting the burden to the “polluter,” EPR incentivizes sustainable design and ensures materials are recovered rather than sent to landfills.

The Ontario Mandate: RPRA

In Ontario, this transition is governed by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA). Under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, Ontario has moved to a Full Producer Responsibility model. If your company supplies packaging, electronics, or batteries into Ontario, you are now legally responsible for meeting strict recovery targets and reporting data directly to the RPRA.

The Solution: Landbell Canada

Landbell Canada simplifies the complexities of these regulations. As your dedicated Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO), we provide essential, turn-key services specifically tailored to Ontario’s mandates. We handle the administrative and operational “heavy lifting”—from establishing collection systems to direct data reporting—so you can focus on your core business.

Our Ontario Specializations

We bring global standards to the local market, ensuring you remain in 100% compliance with provincial regulations:

  • Blue Box Materials: We support producers of paper, rigid and flexible plastics, metal, glass, and beverage containers. We manage collection systems, handle mandatory Promotion & Education (P&E), and submit performance data to the RPRA.

  • E-Waste (ITT/AV): Under O. Reg. 522/20, we manage electronics ranging from computers and cellular devices to servers and musical instruments. We help you accurately classify applicable vs. non-applicable electronic categories.

  • Battery Compliance: We manage specialized recovery and recycling networks for both portable and industrial batteries, ensuring your company meets its provincial diversion targets.
